Miley Cyrus Nearly (Clearly?) Naked

It’s only day 2 of the Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana Disney phenomenon) Vanity Fair photog scandal, and there are already hundreds of responses, from citizen blogs, celebrity declarations, and finger pointing press releases between Disney, the Cyrus Empire, Vanity Fair and photographer, Annie Lebowitz.

What happened? Miley Cyrus was asked by Annie Lebowitz and Vanity Fair to pose in the upcoming issue and one of the photos shows her clutching a bed sheet (not actually, but appears as one) with her bare back showing, tousled hair and red lipstick. Oh, and she’s 15.

So, aside from the “she’s only 15″ and “worldwide role model for 5 year olds” and “now she’s a slut” arguments, I find the artistry in the fact that as you look through thousands of photos of Miley Cyrus, she looks at least 19 or 20 due to makeup, wonderbras, and couture clothing, yet this photo actual shows she is seriously still a baby but in an industry that [insert sociological arguments here]. Go Annie? But to what expense paid?

In the end, it comes down to $$. The Cyrus Empire (yes, mom, dad and GRANDMA) were at the photo shoot, saw this photo, thought it was beautiful and should be in the magazine. Now, the Empire could fall because of it. So now, she’s embarrassed and mothers around the globe are falling over themselves to make sure their little ones don’t see what happens when you go from cute girl power star to, well…you know the rest of this story.
